Content Policy & Community Guidelines — ePharmatica

This policy applies to everything users publish on ePharmatica: forum threads and replies, blog posts, public profiles, and content surfaced through the WhatsApp assistant. It works alongside our Terms of Service. ePharmatica is a professional and academic community — for many members it is a workplace-adjacent space. Post accordingly.

1. The Baseline

Be respectful and act in good faith. No harassment, bullying, personal attacks, hate speech, discrimination (including on ethnicity, religion, sect, gender, or nationality), threats, or incitement. Disagree with ideas, not people — this applies doubly in clinical debates, where tone decides whether students keep asking questions.

2. Medical & Scientific Content Standards

Because our subject matter can affect health decisions, these rules are strict:

Educational discussion only. Discuss pharmacology, therapeutics, and practice in general, educational terms. Do not give directive advice for a specific real patient or ask others to ("my patient/relative has X, what should I give them?" → consult a qualified professional instead; frame learning questions generically).
Patient confidentiality is absolute. Never post information that could identify a patient — names, photos, identifiable case details, prescriptions, or records. De-identify case discussions thoroughly.
Cite your sources for clinical claims (guidelines, monographs, primary literature). Unsupported claims may be removed; repeatedly posting misinformation about medicines, vaccines, or treatments will end participation.
No facilitation of misuse. Content that promotes or instructs misuse of prescription-only or controlled substances, self-medication of dangerous drugs, evasion of regulatory or prescription requirements, or counterfeit medicines is prohibited.
No sale or sourcing of medicines through the Platform.

3. Academic Integrity & Copyright

Do not upload or link pirated textbooks, scanned chapters, or paid question banks; short quotations with attribution for discussion are fine, wholesale reproduction is not. Do not share leaked exam papers or solicit/offer impersonation, ghost-writing of assessments, or other cheating services. Repeat copyright infringement leads to account termination (Terms §12).

4. Spam, Promotion & Jobs

No spam, mass posting, engagement bait, or vote manipulation (including asking for upvotes or coordinating them). Relevant professional self-promotion is welcome in moderation — e.g., sharing your published article with context — but undisclosed advertising, affiliate/referral drops, MLM recruitment, and repetitive promotion are not. Job openings belong in the Jobs portal (use the employer submission channel on the Jobs page), not in forum threads; hiring-discussion threads are fine, listings are not.

5. Also Prohibited

Illegal content or activity; sexually explicit content; doxxing or sharing others' personal information; impersonation of any person, institution, or ePharmatica staff; malware or phishing links; off-platform harassment coordination; and attempts to manipulate, jailbreak, or misuse Platform features (including the AI tools and WhatsApp assistant) to produce policy-violating content.

6. Question Threads & Accepted Answers

Question threads exist to get learners reliable answers: keep answers on-topic and evidence-based; the accepted-answer mark means "this resolved my question," not official ePharmatica endorsement; don't edit answers after acceptance in ways that change their meaning without noting the edit.

7. Verified Pharmacists & Writers

The Verified Pharmacist badge and blog-writer status carry extra visibility — and extra responsibility. Content from badged users faces the same rules with lower tolerance for breaches of §2. The badge must not be used to lend authority to personal medical advice, commercial promotion, or claims outside your competence. Serious or repeated violations forfeit the badge or writer role in addition to standard sanctions.

8. Reporting & Enforcement

Every thread and reply has a Report option — use it rather than engaging with bad content; moderators review all reports. Depending on severity and history, enforcement may include: content removal or hiding → formal warning → temporary mute (1, 7, or 30 days) → permanent ban; severe violations (threats, patient-data exposure, illegal content, malicious activity) skip straight to removal and ban, and may be reported to authorities where required. Moderation actions are logged. Appeals: email [email protected] within 14 days with the content link and your explanation; a different staff member reviews appeals where feasible.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as the community grows; material changes will be announced on the Platform. Continued participation after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
